１１節　器から器へあけられたこともなく。

Jeremiah 48:1ーMoab hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel (R.V.)



これは、ぶどう園に例えた、美しく適切な比喩的な表現です。それは、モアブの
丘の大地で骨を折る農業の人々にも、容易に受け入れられるでしょう。浮きかす
と沈殿かすを防ぐために、新しく作られたワインは、完全にフルーティーなワイ
ンの状態になるまで、器から器へ移されます。


モアブのケースでは、これに相当する何もありませんでした。したがって、ひど
い、粗い味は彼の中に残りました。そして、たるの中にずっと置かれました。

This beautiful and appropriate imagery, borrowed from the vineyard,
speaks for itself. It would be readily appreciated by the peasant
populations that toiled amid the terraced hills of Moab. To prevent scum
and sediment, the newly-made wine was emptied from one vessel to another
until it reached the condition of perfect fluidity. In Moab’s case
there had been nothing comparable to this, and therefore the rank,
coarse taste remained in him, and he had settled on his lees.



人間の魂を取り扱われる神様のこの余裕について、なんて鋭い洞察でありましょ
うか。この移し替えは何故でしょうか。街から街へ、教会から教会へ、国から国
へ。何故に私達のプランには、ひっきりなしの変化と、回転運動があるのでしょ
うか。何故に、ひっきりなしに束縛の中に入ったり、面倒な苦しい状況に入れら
れるのでしょうか。


これらは、みんな、神様の人生のワイン製造の一過程です。私達は、そのままだ
と、荒っぽい粗野な不快な味になってしまう樽から出されて、器から器へと移し
替えられなければなりません。


次の変化が、あなたの人生に来たるときに、恐れないでください。恵みの神様は、
貴重なぶどう酒の一滴も地面にこぼれないようにご覧になってくださいます。優
しいケアーでもって、神様は、すべての作業を指示されます。



What an insight this affords of God’s method with the souls of men! Why
these constant removals from town to town; from church to church; from
situation to situation? Why this perpetual change and revolution in our
plans? Why this incessant going into captivity to irksome and trying
circumstances? All this is part of God’s manufacture of the wine of
life. We must be emptied from vessel to vessel, else we should settle on
our lees, and become thick and raw and unpalatable. When the next change
comes in your life, do not fear it. The blessed God will see to it that
no drop of the precious fluid shall be spilt on the ground. With the
tenderest care He conducts the whole operation.




私達の感情の永続する流れの中で、場所から場所へのひっきりなしの変化には、
おそらくカウンターパート（相応するもの）があります。わたしたちは、長いこ
と、同じ感じを持つ事はありません。わたしたちは、ひっきりなしに、ひとつの
所から他の所へ移し替えられます。そして、それは、それほど楽しくないか、静
かでもありません。


私達は小さな手に、最も天的な感動を手にしなくてはなりません。いかに早くそ
れが通り過ぎるかを知らずに。そして、それは良い事です。そうしなければ、私
達は、ひとりよがりのうぬぼれの味を取り去る事はできません。


Perhaps there is a counterpart to this incessant change from place to
place in the perpetual flux of our emotions. We never feel the same for
long together. We are constantly being emptied from one blessed frame
into another, not quite so joyous or peaceful. We have to hold the most
heavenly emotions with a light hand, not knowing how soon they may have
passed. And it is well. Otherwise we should never lose the taste of our
proud self-complacency.

【和訳メモ】

新共同訳聖書は
１１節を

モアブは幼いときから平穏に過ごして
捕囚となったことはない。古い酒のように静かに寝かされ
器から器へ注ぎかえられることなく
その風味は失われず
香りも変わることがなかった。


と訳しました。

いずれにしても、古代の場合の　ワインは、静かに寝かされた
のが　良いワインだったようです。

マイヤーは、そこから黙想して、信仰者の場合は、ワインを
デカンタに移し替えて　沈殿物をとるように、何度も移し
替えられないと、汚いものがたまっていくと語ります。

わたしたちは、みな、変化と、変化に伴う苦労を恐れてしま
います。　でも、親しい人との別れ、引っ越し、新しい環境、
新しい変化は、わたしたちが、もう一度、イエス様にだけに
頼るために必要であると、語ります。
